Japan To Provide Equipment to Strengthen Maldives Polytechnic

Maldives Polytechnic has signed a grant contract with the Embassy of Japan in the Maldives.

At a ceremony held at Maldives Polytechnic today, the agreement for the "Project for Provision of Equipment to Maldives Polytechnic in Male' Island, K. Atoll" was signed by CEO of Maldives Polytechnic Ahmed Nasir. Ambassador of Japan to the Maldives Her Excellency Keiko Yanai signed the agreement on behalf of the Embassy of Japan.

The Grant Agreement signed today will facilitate acquisition of valuable equipment required to improve teaching and learning at the Air-conditioning and Refrigeration department of the Maldives Polytechnic.

Speaking at the ceremony, Japanese Ambassador to the Maldives Keiko stated the importance of educating youth in the technical and vocational sectors. She also assured that the Government of Japan will continue to assist.

The chief guest of this ceremony, Minister of Higher Education thanked the Government of Japan for its continued assistance to the Maldives in the development of the education system.

Moreover, regarding the agreement the Chief executive officer of Maldives Polytechnic highlighted that the agreement would be a major step forward in the teaching of polytechnics. He also highlighted the importance of human resource development in the sector.
